BANGKOK, Thailand – The national cultural festival COLORS OF THAI THAI is drawing large crowds to IMPACT Exhibition Halls 7–8, Muang Thong Thani, following its opening on September 2. Running through September 6 with free admission, the festival features Thai performing arts, cuisine, handicrafts, local traditions, and contemporary creativity.
Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised opened the five-day event with The Radiance of Siam, featuring actress Pimchanok Luevisadpaibul. The first two days featured Khon masked dance, Nang Yai shadow puppetry, traditional regional performances, and concerts by artists such as Palmy, North–Otto, and Latte–Kim.
Today (Sep 4), activities run from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with traditional performances, Southern Thai shadow puppetry, and Bua Ubon Mor Lam, followed by Mor Lam Idol and rapper Maiyarap. Free workshops cover Thai dessert making, natural-dyed cotton weaving, basketry, herbal inhalers, Benjarong painting, Nang Yai leather carving, Nora beadwork, drum making, and Phi Ta Khon mask painting. Visitors can also explore food, handicrafts, textiles, and cultural products from vendors across Thailand.
The festival continues September 5–6 with new handicraft workshops, children’s Khon, cultural performances, contemporary music, and concerts by Max Jenmana, Ryal Kajbundit, FINO THE RANAD and URBOYTJ. The program also includes the immersive digital presentation From the Rain to the Moon: From the Spirit of Rice to the Full-Moon Sky.
