BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong exchanged personalized gifts during Wong’s visit to Government House for the 5th Thailand–Singapore Leaders’ Retreat on September 2. The event highlighted the close rapport between the two leaders, who have met regularly at regional and international forums and during Anutin’s official visit to Singapore. Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek reported that Singapore presented Anutin with an architectural art speaker inspired by the country’s cultural heritage. The piece is inspired by Singapore’s 1950s-era breeze blocks and features a batik pattern associated with Peranakan culture, combining local craftsmanship with contemporary art and music.
Anutin also received a personalized Republic of Singapore Air Force Wings Patch bearing his name and aviation call sign, MICKEY. Selected in recognition of his interest in aviation, the gift also represented the close defense relationship between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal Thai Air Force. Anutin and his spouse later hosted an official dinner for Wong and his spouse at the Santi Maitree Building at Government House, attended by public- and private-sector representatives from both countries.
