PATTAYA, Thailand – Rain returned to Pattaya on Monday evening, Aug. 31, with showers reported across parts of the city as the southwest monsoon continues to influence weather conditions over eastern Thailand. The Thai Meteorological Department said more rain and isolated heavy showers are expected across Thailand, with the East among the regions facing the possibility of very heavy rain.

In Pattaya, light rain was falling at around 8:20 p.m., with cloudy conditions expected to continue. The forecast calls for further showers and thunderstorms in the coming days, particularly during the afternoon and evening. The weather has brought a familiar wet-season scene to Pattaya, with residents and visitors caught in sudden showers while travelling through the city. The TMD has warned people in areas affected by heavy or accumulated rainfall to remain alert for temporary flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.
