
SONGKHLA, Thailand – Minister of Social Development and Human Security Nikorn Soemklang assigned Advisor Chanin Rungtanakiat to visit Thung Wang Subdistrict in Mueang Songkhla District, Songkhla Province. The visit aimed to meet with and encourage elderly residents while engaging with local community leaders to strengthen local cooperation. During the visit, the adviser assessed the living conditions of elderly residents by visiting their homes to discuss their daily lives, health, and government support needs. Essential goods and supplies were provided to help alleviate their challenges and support their well-being.
These home visits offered direct insight into the needs of elderly residents and allowed for the distribution of essential supplies. The adviser also met with community networks, local leaders, and Social Development and Human Security Volunteers (SDHV) to gather recommendations for enhancing social welfare services.
Discussions focused on advancing MSDHS initiatives locally and implementing ministry policies through practical, targeted actions, with an emphasis on supporting quality aging and preparing communities for an aging society. The visit highlighted the importance of integrated cooperation with local networks to provide effective support for vulnerable groups and sustainably improve quality of life in Thung Wang Subdistrict.
