NONTHABURI, Thailand – CCTV footage has captured a shooting at a gas station on Kanchanaphisek Road in Nonthaburi, where a parking dispute reportedly escalated after a pickup driver pulled out a handgun and opened fire, injuring one man. The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. The injured man, identified as 34-year-old Anan, was shot with a 9mm handgun in the right side of his abdomen. The bullet grazed him without hitting a vital organ. Police found four spent shell casings at the scene.
The alleged gunman fled the gas station in a black four-door Mitsubishi pickup truck. Police said the vehicle had no known registration details at the time and was last seen heading toward Bang Kruai.
Rescue workers provided first aid to Anan at the scene. As his injury was not considered life-threatening, he was later advised to report the incident to Bang Yai Police Station. Anan told police that he had been driving from his home in the Sanambinnam area to work in Rama 2 and stopped at the gas station to buy something.
He said he was waiting for a vehicle to leave a parking space. After the vehicle backed out, the black Mitsubishi pickup suddenly moved into the space. Anan said he got out of his vehicle to confront the driver over the way he had taken the parking space. The pickup driver then allegedly got out, drew a handgun and chased him while firing. Anan ran to escape but was struck by a bullet on the right side of his waist. He told police that he had never had any previous dispute with the gunman.
A second vehicle was also damaged during the shooting. A bullet struck the rear of a silver Toyota sedan, registration 6 Ko Cho 4460 Bangkok. Investigators from Bang Yai Police Station are reviewing CCTV footage from inside the gas station and along possible escape routes. Police are working to identify the pickup and locate the suspected gunman for further legal action. (TNA)
