BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool attended the Techsauce Exclusive Dinner at Bangkok Kunsthalle on August 20, joining executives from tourism, technology, business, creative industries, and urban development for discussions on Bangkok’s future. Thapanee explored how technology and creativity can support tourism while giving historic buildings new purposes without losing their original character. She cited Bangkok Kunsthalle on Maitri Chit Road as an example of adapting an older property for contemporary cultural use.
Formerly home to Thai Watana Panich Publishing House, the building has been transformed into a space for art and creative expression while retaining much of its original architecture, including concrete surfaces, brickwork, steel frames, and wooden doors and windows. Thapanee described the transformation as an example of how Bangkok can evolve while preserving its history. She encouraged greater use of the capital’s historic spaces to create contemporary experiences that enhance Bangkok’s appeal as a tourist destination. (NNT)
