Bangkok Police arrest alleged ketamine vape supplier in sting operation

Police arrested a 30-year-old man in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district and seized 15 suspected ketamine vape pods and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.

BANGKOK, Thailand — Bangkok police have arrested a 30-year-old man accused of supplying ketamine vape pods to teenagers and nightlife visitors in the Huai Khwang area, seizing 15 pods and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Drug Suppression Division arrested the suspect in Soi Pracha Songkhro, Din Daeng district, on August 20.

Police said the arrest followed information from an informant that the suspect was allegedly distributing drugs to young people and nightlife visitors in the area.


Officers subsequently arranged a controlled purchase of 15 ketamine vape pods and arranged a meeting to receive the drugs. When the suspect arrived, police identified themselves and searched him, finding the suspected drugs concealed in a shoulder bag. During questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed that the drugs belonged to him.

Police charged him with illegal possession of a Category 1 narcotic, crystal methamphetamine, and consuming a Category 1 narcotic in violation of the law. He was handed over to investigators at Sutthisan Police Station for further legal proceedings.
