PATTAYA, Thailand – Before another landmark rises above Jomtien, The Riviera Santa Monica began its journey with a tradition deeply rooted in Thai culture – an auspicious ceremony honouring the land and seeking blessings for the development, its workers and future residents.
Held on February 6, 2026, the ceremony was presided over by Sukanya Gale, Co-founder and Project Director of The Riviera Group, and marked an important cultural milestone for the latest project from the Pattaya-based developer.
For The Riviera Group, the ceremony reflects respect for Thailand’s traditions while setting a positive intention for the project ahead. Offerings of flowers, garlands, incense and food, together with prayers and blessings, symbolise protection, good fortune and harmony for the development, its workers and future residents.
From tradition to construction
The cultural ceremony has been followed by a major construction milestone, with pile foundation works now under way at The Riviera Santa Monica. Construction began in October 2025, with completion scheduled for November 2028.
Winston Gale, Founder and Managing Director of The Riviera Group, said the project remains on schedule despite changing global economic conditions and exchange rates. “Careful planning, strong supplier relationships and close coordination between our project teams, engineers and contractors are helping us maintain progress while protecting the quality expected from a Riviera development.”
With more than 15 years of development experience and multiple completed projects in Pattaya and Jomtien, Winston added, “Our experience on the ground provides a strong foundation for managing this project through every stage of construction.”

Turning vision into reality
The Riviera Santa Monica is the sister project to The Riviera Malibu, bringing a similar Los Angeles-inspired lifestyle concept to Jomtien.
Located just off Jomtien Second Road, the project is designed to offer a quieter residential setting while remaining close to the beach and the area’s attractions. Multiple access routes will provide convenient connections to the surrounding area.
Winston says approximately 95% of the residences will have sea views, with many offering wide-ranging views across Jomtien and Pattaya.
A 34-storey landmark
Set on approximately 3.2 rai, the development will comprise a 34-storey tower with 447 fully fitted and furnished residences.
The residential mix includes:
337 one-bedroom units: 29–38 sq m
107 two-bedroom units: 50–73 sq m
Two three- and four-bedroom units: 106–180 sq m
One four-bedroom penthouse with maid’s room: 325 sq m
The project has a total buildable area of 36,928 sq m, with 124 undercover parking spaces and planned electric vehicle charging facilities. The development will be freehold.

A resort-style lifestyle
Santa Monica has been designed around an extensive range of facilities intended to bring recreation, entertainment and wellness into everyday residential life. The centrepiece includes two sky pools on the 21st floor, while the ground-level pool will feature a children’s pool, slider, jacuzzi and pool bar with swim-up seating.
Residents will also have access to a hotel-style lobby, restaurant with open kitchen and bar, outdoor dining terrace, bowling alley, pool table lounge and a private entertainment room with a cinema-style screen. A co-working space and meeting room add practical facilities for residents who work from home or need shared spaces.
Fitness and wellness
The development will feature a large cardio and weights gym with sea and pool views, together with lockers and showers. Additional wellness facilities include saunas, steam rooms, ice plunge facilities, separate male and female onsen areas, a yoga and stretching room and an open-air Zen garden.
A double-height sanctuary garden podium will provide further landscaped relaxation space, while a kids’ club, dedicated dog park, badminton courts, pickleball court and basketball practice court cater to different interests and age groups.

Designed for everyday living
Practical facilities include a convenience store, self-service laundry, Wi-Fi in public areas and free shuttle transportation. The combination of residences, dining, entertainment, fitness, wellness and recreational facilities reflects The Riviera Group’s aim of creating a development where residents can enjoy a comprehensive lifestyle within their own community. The Southern California inspiration is also reflected in the project’s emphasis on coastal living, sunsets and contemporary architecture.

Another Riviera landmark for Jomtien
The Riviera Santa Monica continues The Riviera Group’s strategy of developing distinctive high-rise residences in Pattaya and Jomtien. While the project takes its design inspiration from Santa Monica, California, its beginning was firmly rooted in Thailand, with the traditional ceremony acknowledging the cultural significance of the land before construction moved forward.
Now, with foundation works progressing, the development is entering a new phase. For Sukanya, Winston and the Riviera team, the objective is clear: to transform an ambitious architectural vision into a high-quality residential landmark that combines Thai cultural respect, contemporary design and an international lifestyle.
The ceremony honoured the land. The foundation is taking shape. The Riviera Santa Monica is now moving steadily from vision to reality.
