BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has outlined his vision for Exponential Thailand, emphasizing investment in people, research and innovation, and public-sector modernization to build resilient and sustainable national growth. The Prime Minister delivered a keynote address at The INTANIA Forum: Surviving Under the New World Order, held at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok on July 31. Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek noted that he suggested reframing the theme as Surviving Under the New World Disorder to better reflect increasing global uncertainty and rapid change.
The Prime Minister stated that the international system faces challenges from geopolitical tensions, wars, pandemics, technological disruption, environmental pressures, and demographic shifts. He emphasized that Thailand must strengthen domestic resilience and self-reliance, guided by the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, while maintaining sustainable global economic connections.
Referencing discussions from his visit to China, the Prime Minister introduced a 4P framework for balanced AI development: Prevention to address risks and harmful uses; Prosperity to support economic growth and competitiveness; Potential to strengthen government, businesses, and the workforce; and Protection to ensure safe, responsible, and beneficial access.
He stressed that Thailand’s future development should reach all regions, with multiple economic centers, stronger infrastructure, and improved north-south and east-west connectivity. The aim is to transform Thailand from a transit country into an economic and investment hub that creates jobs and income and supports local industries. The Prime Minister outlined three priorities: lifelong learning and human capital development; research commercialization, innovation, and university-based entrepreneurship; and public-sector reform through streamlined procedures, technology adoption, transparency, workforce development, and improved working practices. The Prime Minister urged the government, universities, businesses, and the public to collaborate as drivers of change, enabling Thailand to navigate global volatility and achieve strong, stable, and sustainable growth.
