BEIJING, China – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Chinese Premier Li Qiang held full-delegation talks in Beijing on July 20. They then witnessed the signing of 15 agreements and memoranda of understanding covering future industries, security, education, and sustainable development. During the discussions, the Chinese Premier emphasized the importance of closer collaboration to promote regional peace and prosperity, following the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. The Thai Prime Minister expressed gratitude for China’s honorable reception of Their Majesties the King and Queen during their official visit. He also confirmed Thailand’s support for China’s hosting of APEC and committed to attending the Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen this November.
The leaders agreed to advance cooperation across five core pillars. In trade and investment, Thailand requested increased Chinese imports of high-quality agricultural products and welcomed investments that support technology transfer and comply with local regulations. For infrastructure, both sides committed to completing the first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail by 2030 and to advancing regional connectivity projects. In security, they agreed to establish a 2+2 foreign affairs and defense dialogue mechanism.
The two nations pledged to expand cooperation in science, technology, and future industries, and to increase intelligence sharing to combat transnational crime and online fraud. The Thai Prime Minister also thanked China for its constructive support in bilateral negotiations to resolve the Thai-Cambodian border situation. Following the talks, the leaders witnessed the signing of 15 agreements. These documents establish partnerships in higher education, supply chain enhancement, artificial intelligence, intellectual property enforcement, and nuclear fusion. Other agreements cover public health, Beidou satellite applications, anti-money laundering, agricultural exports, water management, deep space exploration, and media cooperation.
