PATTAYA, Thailand – A frightened dog was safely rescued after becoming trapped inside a drainage pipe along Phra Tamnak Road on July 17, prompting Pattaya officials to rush to the scene and carry out a careful rescue operation. Jomtien Municipal officers received a report about the trapped dog, nicknamed “Khao” (meaning “white” in Thai), and immediately inspected the area before coordinating with Pattaya City Engineering officials to open the drain cover and reach the animal. Seeing Khao trapped underground, officers expressed concern and wondered how the dog had managed to enter the drainage system, asking, “Khao, how did you get down there?”
After running through the underground drainage system in search of a way out, Khao was eventually brought to safety, leaving officials and nearby residents relieved. The successful rescue highlighted Pattaya’s commitment to responding to calls for help and showing that every life matters. Residents and visitors can contact Pattaya City Hall’s hotline 1337 to report problems or request assistance, including cases involving animals in need of help.
