CCTV footage captures a man allegedly taking a phone at a Pattaya Soi 6 bar, prompting warnings for workers and visitors to stay alert against theft in busy nightlife areas.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A phone theft incident at a bar in Pattaya has raised concerns among nightlife operators, with CCTV footage reportedly capturing a man taking a mobile phone belonging to a bar worker. The incident happened at around 10 p.m. on July 11 at a bar along Pattaya Beach Road in Soi 6. The missing device was a white iPhone 17 Pro Max, which also contained the owner’s identification card stored behind the phone case. The bar shared a public appeal asking anyone who recognizes the man in the CCTV footage, or anyone who may have information about the missing phone, to contact them. The suspect was described by people familiar with the area as a bald, thin man who frequently walks around Pattaya’s nightlife zones carrying a bag. Some residents said they had seen him regularly in areas including Soi Buakhao and central Pattaya.

The incident has sparked renewed warnings about “long-hand” thefts in busy entertainment areas, where thieves may take advantage of crowded venues, distracted customers or unattended belongings. Bar operators and staff urged both workers and visitors to remain careful with mobile phones, wallets and other valuables, especially during busy nighttime hours when entertainment areas are crowded. Visitors were also reminded to keep personal belongings within sight and avoid leaving expensive devices unattended on counters, tables or seating areas. Anyone with information about the missing phone or the person shown in the CCTV footage is encouraged to contact the bar or report information to police. (Clip Photo: Beam Smoy Jeed Facebook)
