Emergency teams will stage a major road accident simulation on July 13, with temporary closures near Nong Hin railway crossing in Banglamung.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Motorists are being advised to avoid the Nong Hin Junction area on 13 July as emergency agencies conduct a full-scale road accident response drill designed to simulate a real-life incident. The exercise will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Nong Hin railway crossing in east Pattaya, as part of the 2026 Road Accident Prevention and Reduction Plan organized by Wat Yansangwararam Hospital.

The drill aims to strengthen cooperation between local agencies, test the Incident Command System (ICS) and improve coordination when responding to major accidents involving multiple casualties at railway crossings and surrounding transport routes. The simulated emergency will involve ambulances, rescue vehicles, fire engines, police units, rescue teams and role-playing injured victims. Emergency lights and sirens will also be used to create a realistic training environment.

Temporary traffic closures will be in place during the exercise, including:

  • Railway-side road at Nong Hin Junction (towards Sattahip): two lanes closed
  • Sukhumvit Pattaya 89 Road: one lane closed
  • Railway crossing road at Nong Hin Junction: two lanes closed

Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area, plan journeys in advance and allow extra travel time. Residents are also reminded not to panic if they see emergency vehicles, hear sirens or observe rescue operations in the area, as all activities are part of the scheduled safety exercise.
