Defense expo marks new chapter for Thailand’s security industry

Anutin Charnvirakul opens THAIDEF-EX 2026, Thailand’s first national defense industry exhibition, highlighting innovation, self-reliance, and the growth of the country’s domestic defense sector.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening ceremony of the Thailand Defense Industry Exhibition 2026 (THAIDEF-EX 2026), held July 8–10, at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, senior government officials, armed forces commanders, the Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, and defense industry representatives.


THAIDEF-EX 2026 is Thailand’s first defense industry exhibition and is held under the theme “Power of Self Reliance.” The event supports government policy to strengthen national security and promote economic development by enhancing domestic industrial capacity. The exhibition provides a platform for Thai entrepreneurs, researchers, and technology developers to showcase knowledge, innovation, and products for practical application. It aims to generate economic value, create jobs, and enhance Thailand’s international competitiveness.


Activities include technology demonstrations and business matching sessions, enabling participants to build networks and explore future cooperation and investment opportunities. The Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense expressed confidence that THAIDEF-EX 2026 will mark a significant milestone in uniting all sectors to sustainably grow the Thai defense industry, achieve self-reliance, and safeguard the nation’s long-term interests.
