PATTAYA, Thailand – A 54-year-old Russian woman has been praised for her honesty after she found a wallet containing 22,700 baht in cash along with important documents and ensured it was safely returned to its rightful owner. The incident took place in Soi Wat Boon Samphan 9 in the Khao Noi area, East Pattaya. The woman, identified as Ms. Natalie (surname withheld), who resides in the area, discovered the wallet while walking along the roadside on July 4.
Upon inspecting its contents, she found cash amounting to 22,700 baht and identification documents belonging to a 58-year-old Thai woman, Ms. Penkae Phakhamruek. She then sought assistance from local residents to deliver the wallet to Nongprue Police Station. Police officers verified the documents and successfully contacted the owner, who later came to collect her belongings in full. The owner expressed great relief and said she did not expect the wallet or money to be returned. She praised the honesty of the Russian woman and gave a token reward as a gesture of gratitude, also thanking police for coordinating the return.
