PATTAYA, Thailand – A 48-year-old hotel receptionist in northern Pattaya has filed a police complaint after allegedly being threatened and nearly assaulted by a British tourist following a dispute over a lost key card. On July 4, the victim, identified as Ms. Ae (surname withheld), a front desk employee at J.A. Plus Hotel near a driving range on Pattaya Third Road, filed a report with police at Pattaya City Police Station.

She told investigators that the incident occurred around 10 a.m. when a 27-year-old British tourist staying at the hotel since July 2 lost his room key card. According to hotel policy, a 500 baht replacement fee is required. The guest reportedly refused to pay the fee, became verbally abusive, and allegedly attempted to assault her and another staff member before leaving the hotel, leaving his passport behind. The hotel stated that CCTV footage clearly captured the incident. Fearing for her safety, the receptionist decided to file a formal complaint to ensure legal record and protection.

Police have recorded the incident and are reviewing evidence as part of further proceedings.
