BANGKOK, Thailand – The SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother is holding nationwide auditions to select young classical dance performers for its highly anticipated annual Khon performance. This year’s grand production will feature the “Sita” episode from the Ramakien epic and is scheduled to be staged from November 5 to December 10, 2026, at the Main Hall of the Thailand Cultural Centre. The organizing committee reported record-breaking interest for this production, with over 1,000 youth applicants from across the country registering for auditions. The selection process takes place on July 4 and 5, 2026, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Faculty of Arts Education, Bunditpatanasilpa Institute in Salaya, Nakhon Pathom province.
To ensure high performance quality and adherence to classical traditions, auditions are strictly categorized by character roles. On July 4, candidates are evaluated for the roles of humans, giants, and monkeys. Auditions will be held for male and female lead characters on July 5. This cultural initiative continues the Foundation’s enduring mission to preserve Thailand’s classical performing arts while offering young talent a prestigious national platform to showcase their skills and impress audiences.
