Authorities carry out surprise inspections across six Pattaya nightlife venues under “Operation 90 Days,” focusing on drug screening, fire safety, and license compliance.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities in Banglamung district launched a coordinated inspection of nightlife venues in Pattaya as part of the government’s “Operation 90 Days” initiative aimed at strengthening safety standards, drug prevention, and regulatory compliance across entertainment establishments. On July 2, Pichanon Thawisuk, Assistant District Chief of Banglamung led more than 20 administrative officers in a surprise inspection of six entertainment venues across Pattaya. The operation focused on multiple safety aspects, including drug screening of staff, verification of operating licenses, fire safety systems, emergency exits, and clearly marked evacuation routes. Officers also checked whether venues met required safety standards for high-traffic tourist establishments.

Initial inspections began in Soi 6 along Pattaya Beach Road, where officers checked POISON SOI 6, followed by SOHO BAR, Six Sense, and My Friend U. At each venue, staff were subjected to random drug testing, while documents and safety systems were reviewed. No violations were found.

Authorities later inspected venues at Xcite Square Pattaya, including Area 39 Bar & Bistro, which offers live music and dining, followed by Z 4Pub Pattaya. All locations were found to be compliant, with no drugs detected among employees and safety systems reported to be in order. Officials said the operation is not solely focused on law enforcement but also on ensuring visitor safety, particularly in venues frequented by both Thai and international tourists. Emphasis was placed on fire preparedness, evacuation planning, and emergency response readiness to prevent potential loss of life or property.

The campaign is part of a broader government strategy under “Operation 90 Days,” which integrates enforcement across drug suppression, cybercrime, nominee businesses, money laundering, influence networks, informal debt, land encroachment, and tourist safety. Authorities said inspections will continue regularly to enhance confidence in Pattaya’s tourism industry and maintain its image as a world-class destination.
