Bueng Kan launches integrated drug prevention and rehabilitation drive

Deputy PM launches rehabilitation-focused anti-drug program, promoting prevention, treatment, and community reintegration in Bueng Kan.

BUENG KAN, Thailand – Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri visited So Phisai district, Bueng Kan province, on June 21, 2026, to launch the integrated anti-drug initiative under the government’s One District, One Drug Rehabilitation Center policy. The Deputy Prime Minister provided policy guidance to officials and network partners to support prevention, rehabilitation, and social reintegration efforts, in line with the government’s goal of achieving tangible results. ​The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that addressing drug issues requires cooperation from all sectors, including government agencies, the private sector, local organizations, community leaders, and the public. He noted that the One District, One Drug Rehabilitation Center policy prioritizes both rehabilitation and social recovery, supporting individuals’ reintegration and reducing the risk of relapse.



​The event featured a joint declaration by partner networks, policy guidance for operational teams, exhibitions on anti-drug efforts in each district, and public participation activities to strengthen community capacity for sustainable drug prevention. ​The visit demonstrated the government’s commitment to a comprehensive response across all sectors, covering prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, to enhance public safety and improve the quality of life in Bueng Kan province.
