BANGKOK, Thailand – A taxi driver has been praised for his honesty after returning more than 300,000 baht in cash and valuables belonging to Sri Lankan tourists, with the handover successfully coordinated through FM91 traffic radio. On June 2, at the FM91 radio station in Bangkok, executives and staff witnessed the formal return of a lost black shoulder bag containing 8,500 euros (approximately 322,269 baht), a pair of branded shoes, and room keys to the rightful owners. The incident began earlier the same morning at around 08:10, when Pathapee Yaemsanoh, a 50-year-old taxi driver from Samut Prakan, picked up two passengers from Suvarnabhumi Airport and transported them to Soi Silom 19. After completing the trip, he later discovered a black BIAOWANG shoulder bag left behind in the vehicle.

Upon inspecting the contents and realizing the significant amount of cash inside, the driver immediately contacted FM91 at 08:37 to report the discovery and request assistance in locating the owner. He later brought the bag to the station for safe return. The driver said he was initially surprised by the large sum but decided to return the items without hesitation, adding that he had always returned lost belongings in previous cases, including mobile phones and smaller amounts of cash.

FM91 subsequently broadcast a public announcement and coordinated with the accommodation of the foreign passengers, who also contacted the station after realizing the loss. The owners, identified as Mr. Mohammed Aashif and Mr. Mohammed Onaiz from Sri Lanka, said they had accidentally left the bag in the taxi after arriving at their accommodation. They expressed great relief after retrieving all belongings intact and thanked the driver and FM91 staff for their assistance. The tourists also offered a token of appreciation to the driver in recognition of his honesty.
