
NEW YORK, USA – Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council Open Debate in New York. The meeting followed the assignment by the leaders during the Trilateral Meeting (Thailand – Philippines – Cambodia) held on the sidelines of the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, in early May 2026.
Both sides discussed approaches to gradually rebuild mutual trust and confidence. They also had a candid exchange of views to better understand each other’s positions regarding the way forward on maritime and land boundary issues. Both sides agreed to maintain regular consultations to determine an appropriate way forward, based on sincerity and good faith. (NNT)
