Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul urges provincial governors, police, and security agencies to operate as one team, strengthening coordination against crime, cyber threats, and transnational networks while improving public complaint handling and nationwide safety efforts.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has presided over a workshop on advancing national security operations in line with government policy, attended by representatives from administrative, security, and police agencies. The premier said the choice of venue, which is Government House, underscored the significance of coordinated action at the highest level.

Anutin told the meeting that the country’s security environment is increasingly complex and fast-changing, requiring closer coordination among key agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Justice, and related bodies responsible for internal stability. A clear direction has been set to ensure unified operations across all levels.

Provincial governors and provincial police commanders have been instructed to work as a single team, maintaining coordination, information sharing, and proactive planning. Local networks, including subdistrict and village leaders, are being used to monitor risks such as narcotics, cybercrime, and criminal figures who intimidate the public. Authorities are stepping up operations to combat crime, including cases involving foreign nationals and transnational networks, with expanded investigations targeting key figures and financial channels, alongside measures against call center scams, online gambling, and illegal firearm possession.

In the area of public assistance, mechanisms such as Damrongdhama Centers are being used to handle complaints and resolve grievances efficiently, with coordination between provincial authorities and police. The prime minister also called for continued support for field operations, stating that coordinated efforts will help improve public confidence in safety and security nationwide. (NNT)
