Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of Thailand’s Department of Business Development, announces the nationwide transition to fully online business registration services starting July 1, 2026.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Thailand’s Department of Business Development (DBD) will officially end walk-in registration services for partnerships and limited companies nationwide from July 1 requiring all applications to be submitted online through the DBD Biz Regist system. Director-General Poonpong Naiyanapakorn said the move is part of the government’s push toward full digital transformation, aimed at improving convenience, transparency, and efficiency for businesses and the public. Under the new policy, entrepreneurs will no longer be able to file paper-based applications in person at DBD offices or provincial commerce offices. Instead, all company and partnership registrations must be completed electronically through the online platform.

Officials say the system is designed to reduce travel costs, save time, and limit face-to-face interactions that could potentially lead to corruption or unofficial payments within government processes.

The DBD Biz Regist platform operates 24 hours a day and allows users to submit applications, track registration status, and receive official electronic documents entirely online. The system also includes electronic identity verification and integrated data-sharing with other government agencies to reduce risks related to document forgery and identity misuse. According to the department, business adoption of the online system has risen sharply in recent months. Online registrations accounted for over 89% of all legal entity registrations in April 2026, up from 68% in September 2025. For newly established partnerships and companies specifically, online usage reportedly reached nearly 95%. The department said support staff and technical assistance will remain available throughout the transition period to help businesses adapt smoothly to the digital-only system. Entrepreneurs seeking more information about the DBD Biz Regist platform can contact the Department of Business Development through its official Line account @DBD1570 or the 1570 Call Center.
