BANGKOK, Thailand – Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi, acting on behalf of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, visited victims of the recent collision between a freight train and a public bus at the Asoke-Dindaeng intersection who are being treated at Phetchavej Hospital, Ruamjairak Hospital, and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.

The visits followed a collision on May 16, 2026, between a freight train and a No. 206 public bus at the railway crossing on Asoke-Dindaeng Road, near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. Representatives from the State Railway of Thailand and the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority accompanied the delegation. The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to public safety and consumer rights, noting that the Prime Minister inspected the scene the previous evening. She expressed condolences to the affected families and confirmed that compensation processes would be expedited.

As supervisor of the OCPB, the Minister has directed the immediate formation of a task force to streamline legal and financial assistance, ensuring victims receive support without facing bureaucratic obstacles. The OCPB will coordinate with relevant agencies in four areas: receiving complaints directly from victims, providing legal counsel on public transit insurance rights, coordinating inter-agency assistance, and monitoring the disbursement of remedy funds. Affected passengers and families may seek assistance or file complaints through the OCPB hotline at 1166, the OCPB Connect application, the official website, or Damrongdhama centers nationwide. (NNT)
