PATTAYA, Thailand – Mayor Poramet Ngampichet has reaffirmed the city’s commitment to supporting women and strengthening families through a new training and study program focused on preventing violence against women and promoting safer communities. The two-day program, held in Rayong from May 14–15, forms part of Pattaya City’s 2026 Women’s Development and Empowerment initiative. The event brought together city executives, participants, and related officials for workshops and knowledge-sharing activities aimed at improving family wellbeing and social resilience.

Opening the event, Poramet said women play a vital role in both families and society, adding that empowering women helps build stronger households and healthier communities.

“When women are strong, families become strong, leading to stronger communities,” he said. “Pattaya is ready to support every sector in building a safe and livable society for everyone.”

Deputy Permanent Secretary Panrada Attohi said the program aims to provide women with greater understanding of domestic violence prevention, self-protection, and family support strategies, while also helping participants develop skills that can be applied within their communities.

Activities included educational lectures, experience-sharing sessions, and study visits designed to help participants improve quality of life for themselves, their families, and local communities.

City officials said the initiative reflects Pattaya’s broader efforts to improve public wellbeing and promote a safer, more sustainable urban society.
