PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City officials have visited the Nong Or community in Central Pattaya following growing complaints from residents over persistent flooding, homeless people, garbage accumulation, and traffic congestion affecting daily life in the area. The inspection was carried out on May 13 after Mayor Poramet Ngampichet assigned Deputy Mayor Damrongkiat Pinijkarn, alongside Deputy City Council President Wisan Phettrakul, city council members, and officials, to survey the area and hear concerns directly from residents.

Officials said several locations in the community continue to suffer from poor water drainage, particularly during heavy rainfall, leaving standing water that disrupts transportation and daily activities for local residents. Residents also raised concerns over homeless individuals occupying public spaces, improper garbage disposal, and vehicles blocking roads and access routes within the neighborhood. Community members said the problems have contributed to ongoing safety concerns and deteriorating public order.

City representatives inspected affected areas in central Pattaya and ordered faster action on drainage, waste management, public space control, and traffic problems impacting local residents.

City representatives conducted on-site inspections throughout affected areas while gathering feedback from residents in an effort to identify targeted solutions to the long-standing issues.

Authorities said relevant agencies have now been instructed to accelerate corrective measures, including improvements to drainage systems, more efficient garbage collection, management of public areas, and traffic solutions aimed at easing congestion within the community. Pattaya City stated it will continue monitoring conditions in local neighborhoods and maintain direct engagement with residents to improve living conditions, safety, and public order across the city.

Pattaya City says agencies are being coordinated to address persistent flooding and public disorder issues in the Nong Or community as residents call for urgent solutions.
