Pattaya is set for a cooler spell as storms roll in, with thunderstorms and strong winds expected to bring relief from the heat.

PATTAYA, Thailand – After days of intense heat, Pattaya and much of Thailand are set for a welcome cool down as unstable weather conditions move in from May 7 to 10. According to the Thai Meteorological Department, the eastern region—including Pattaya—will see increased thunderstorms, gusty winds, and isolated heavy rain during this period. The shift in weather is being driven by a high-pressure system, or cool air mass, moving down from China and covering parts of northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea. At the same time, southerly and southeasterly winds are bringing moisture from the Gulf of Thailand, fueling storm activity across upper Thailand.

While the storms may bring short-term disruption, they are expected to ease the current heat, offering some relief to residents and visitors. Authorities are advising people to remain cautious during this period, particularly due to the risk of strong winds and heavy downpours in some areas.

Meanwhile, stronger easterly winds over the south and the Gulf are expected to bring heavier rainfall to parts of southern Thailand.
