Police and rescue teams respond to a scene near Nual Beach on Koh Larn, where a foreign tourist was found dead, with authorities launching an investigation into the circumstances.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities are investigating the death of an Icelandic tourist whose body was found on Koh Larn on the morning of May 2.

Police from Pattaya City Police Station were alerted at around 10:00 AM after a foreign national was discovered in a wooded area near Nual Beach. Officers, forensic teams, medical personnel, and rescue workers responded to the scene to conduct an initial examination.

The deceased was later identified as a 56-year-old man from Iceland. Personal belongings, including a backpack containing medication for underlying health conditions, were found nearby and collected as evidence.



A local construction worker who discovered the body said he initially thought it was a mannequin before realizing it was a person, prompting him to notify authorities.

Preliminary findings suggest the man may have been experiencing stress related to existing health issues. However, officials stated that the exact cause of death will be determined following a full autopsy. Authorities are also working to contact the victim’s relatives for further information.

Investigations are ongoing.
