
BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul visited Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to inspect the State Railway of Thailand’s preparedness for public travel during the Songkran festival.
The Prime Minister met with passengers in the first-floor waiting area, where he engaged in informal conversations regarding their travel destinations. During the visit, he distributed waterproof mobile phone pouches as souvenirs and received a warm reception from the public. Citizens took the opportunity to photograph the Prime Minister and shared their perspectives on current economic and cost-of-living issues.
After meeting passengers, the Prime Minister visited the second-floor platforms to inspect the train service bound for Su-ngai Kolok. He greeted passengers on board and reviewed the train’s time-log records to confirm punctuality and efficiency.
The Prime Minister reported that SRT’s preparations, including fleet management and passenger services, are progressing well. He acknowledged minor technical issues, such as air-conditioning malfunctions, but confirmed they were resolved quickly to avoid travel disruptions. He also noted a lively travel atmosphere, with many people journeying to their hometowns and tourist destinations, reflecting positive public sentiment during the holiday. (NNT)
