Officials prepare to carry out sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs on Koh Larn, as Pattaya expands animal welfare efforts to improve safety for residents and tourists.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is continuing its push on animal welfare, expanding efforts to care for stray dogs to Koh Larn with a planned sterilization and vaccination campaign aimed at improving both animal welfare and community safety.

The initiative is scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 8, focusing on controlling the stray dog population on the island while reducing the risk of disease transmission.

Officials say the program will include sterilization procedures alongside combined vaccinations covering six major diseases, helping to curb the spread of infections among animals and reduce the number of strays over the long term. The effort is also expected to enhance safety for both residents and tourists visiting Koh Larn.

City authorities are encouraging local residents to assist by reporting stray dog locations and cooperating with officials during operations, ensuring the campaign can be carried out effectively and deliver lasting benefits to the community.

The move reflects Pattaya’s broader approach of inclusive urban management, extending care not only to people but also to animals as part of building a safer and more sustainable city.
