HUA HIN, Thailand – Travel activity at Hua Hin Airport has surged during the 2026 Songkran holiday period, with both Thai and international tourists arriving in large numbers, resulting in fully booked flights and a sharp rise in hotel reservations across the region.

On April 10, local tourism and airport officials, led by Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association President Kittipong Siripetchkasem and Hua Hin Airport Director Chanattha Sricharoen, welcomed 160 passengers arriving on Thai AirAsia flight FD3900 from Chiang Mai. The event marked part of a broader effort to promote tourism during the peak holiday season.

Arriving passengers were greeted with traditional souvenirs and festive items including jasmine garlands, water guns, waterproof phone pouches, small bowls for water pouring rituals, and welcome drinks, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

A themed performance titled “Thai Saby Style with Jeans,” set to the song Bangkok City, was also staged at the departure area, adding color and entertainment for travelers and passengers waiting to check in.

According to tourism operators, hotel bookings across the Hua Hin area have continued to rise despite concerns over higher fuel costs. Average occupancy is reported at 80–90%, with many properties fully booked during the peak travel period of April 12–14.

To attract visitors and offset rising expenses, hotel operators have introduced promotional campaigns such as free shuttle services between the airport and hotels, as well as discounts of 300–500 baht for guests who present fuel receipts.

Despite increased fuel prices, tourism momentum remains strong, with officials noting that travel demand during the Songkran holiday continues to grow and the overall atmosphere remains highly active.
