PATTAYA, Thailand – Construction of the Sri Racha Interchange on Motorway No. 7 (M7) continues to progress steadily at around kilometer 93 in Chonburi province, located adjacent to the Sri Racha Motorway Service Area, which is also under development and set to become the largest roadside service facility in Thailand.
The interchange is part of the ongoing expansion of Thailand’s intercity motorway network aimed at improving connectivity between Bangkok, Chonburi, Pattaya, and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Once completed, it is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and reduce congestion along key access routes to industrial zones and coastal tourism destinations.
According to the Department of Highways, the Sri Racha Interchange is scheduled to open for service in September 2027, aligning with broader infrastructure development plans to support rising transportation demand in the eastern region.
The adjacent Sri Racha Motorway Service Area is being developed simultaneously, featuring rest facilities, commercial zones, and expanded parking capacity designed to accommodate increasing highway traffic along the M7 corridor.
Officials say the combined projects are intended to enhance travel convenience, improve logistics efficiency, and strengthen Thailand’s long-term transport infrastructure network in the eastern seaboard region.
