PATTAYA, Thailand – An elderly American couple, aged 85 and 65, was found dead inside a hotel room in Jomtien, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
Police were alerted around 11:00 AM on March 31 after hotel staff reported a strong odor coming from a room. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station, along with forensic teams and rescue workers, arrived at the scene to investigate.
Inside the room, the couple was found lying together on the floor beside the bed. Authorities believe the bodies had been there for several days. A handwritten “Do Not Disturb” sign had been placed on the door.
Initial checks revealed no signs of struggle or forced entry. Investigators also found a wheelchair, medical equipment, and various medications inside the room, suggesting the couple had underlying health conditions.
A handwritten note in English was also discovered, which police believe may provide important context, though details have not been publicly disclosed.
According to preliminary information, the couple had been staying at the hotel for about a month and had not been seen for several days prior to the discovery.
Police have sent the bodies for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death. While early indications suggest the possibility of a deliberate act involving medication, authorities stress that conclusions will depend on official autopsy results.
The case remains under investigation.
