PATTAYA, Thailand – A chaotic scene unfolded along Pattaya Beach Road near Soi 13/4 when two transgender women reportedly ran after an Indian tourist following a dispute over an unpaid service fee, startling passersby and drawing attention from authorities, March 5.
The incident took place near Pattaya Beach, where witnesses said the two individuals ran after the tourist while shouting angrily after he allegedly refused to pay for a previously agreed service. During the heated confrontation, one of them reportedly picked up a brick and threatened the tourist, prompting concern among nearby pedestrians and visitors.
Bystanders quickly gathered as the argument escalated, with one witness recording the incident on video, which later circulated online.
Officials from Pattaya City Hall responded to the scene to calm the situation. Officers intervened, provided clothing to cover the individuals involved, and attempted to mediate the dispute between both parties.
After negotiations, the tourist agreed to pay 1,000 baht to each person involved, bringing the confrontation to an end. Both sides eventually dispersed and no formal police complaint was filed.
However, the incident has raised concerns among observers who say such public disputes could affect Pattaya’s image as a major international tourist destination, particularly when dramatic scenes unfold in busy beachfront areas popular with visitors.
