Fourth Army Chief hosts Ramadan Iftar in Yala to strengthen community ties

YALA, Thailand – Fourth Army Area Commander Lt Gen Norathip Poinok has presided over an iftar gathering in Yala province to observe Ramadan 1447 AH, enhancing relations between government authorities and local Muslim communities during the holy month.

Among those attending were senior military officers, provincial officials, representatives of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center, and Abdulbasit Chema, chairman of the Yala Provincial Islamic Committee. The program included welcoming remarks by provincial representatives and a religious lecture on proper conduct during Ramadan prior to the breaking of the fast.



In his address, Lt Gen Norathip spoke about Ramadan as a time of worship, patience, and compassion, when Muslims observe fasting and perform religious duties. He also outlined security measures in place to ensure residents can carry out religious activities safely. Community leaders were asked to advise young people to avoid using firecrackers and fireworks, which have led to injuries in past years.

The commander later presented dried dates and consumer goods to religious leaders for distribution to local residents. The gathering concluded with prayers and the call to prayer, after which participants broke their fast together in a spirit of goodwill and cooperation. (NNT)
