The Surasee Task Force seizes unlicensed mobile signal equipment in Sangkhlaburi during a joint operation targeting unauthorized cross-border transmissions into Myanmar.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Surasee Task Force has seized unauthorized mobile signal transmission equipment along the Sangkhlaburi border in Kanchanaburi province after discovering cross-border signal activity into Myanmar. The operation was directed by Maj Gen Nattapong Asawinwong, commander of the 9th Infantry Division and the Surasee Task Force, in coordination with Kanchanaburi Governor Waristha Sanguansermsri.

A joint team from the Lad Ya Task Force, the NBTC Regional Office 1, local administrative officials, and Sangkhlaburi police inspected a private mobile base station in Nong Lu subdistrict under a warrant issued by the Thong Pha Phum Provincial Court. The inspection confirmed that the station had been transmitting signals across the border without a license from the NBTC.

Authorities seized four antenna towers, six remote radio units, three lithium-ion batteries, three power distribution units, and related transmission cables. The equipment was taken into custody as evidence.

All seized items were transferred to investigators at Sangkhlaburi Police Station for technical review and legal proceedings. The NBTC regional office will forward its report to headquarters for further action, which may include dismantling the signal towers in line with regulatory procedures. (NNT)
