BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the Cabinet to congratulate ministers who won public support in the recent election, including those elected through the constituency and party-list systems. The premier said the results reflect voter confidence, while noting that the process remains subject to the Election Commission’s formal procedures.

Anutin said that although unofficial results are already known, the formation of the next government will begin only after the EC formally certifies the election outcome. As leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, which is expected to serve as the core party in forming the next government, he said the process must proceed in line with the law and respect the electoral process.

The prime minister instructed the current Cabinet to continue performing its duties fully and without interruption until a new Cabinet formally assumes office, stressing the need for continuity during the transition period.

Anutin also assigned Prime Minister’s Office Minister Paradorn Prissananantakul to monitor and accelerate the disbursement of delayed budgets and public assistance programs affected during the election period. In addition, he directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to review possible approaches to terminating MOU44, with national interests as the guiding priority. (NNT)
