PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is set to turn back the clock with the launch of “Classic Revival in Old Town Naklua,” a new heritage-themed event showcasing more than 700 classic and vintage vehicles from February 28 to March 1, at Lan Pho Public Park in Naklua. Preparations for the event were discussed at Pattaya City Hall, where Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat chaired a coordination meeting with city officials and representatives from relevant agencies to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The event is jointly organized by Pattaya City and the Pattaya–Chonburi Business and Tourism Association, with the aim of promoting heritage-based tourism, revitalizing the local tourism economy, and distributing income to small businesses, including local vendors, restaurants, accommodation providers, and related public and private sectors. Organizers also hope the festival will enhance Pattaya and Chonburi’s image among both Thai and international visitors.
Meeting discussions focused on operational readiness, including venue setup, electrical systems, security, traffic management, medical services and emergency vehicles, cleanliness, mobile toilets, waste management, noise control, and public relations to ensure the event runs smoothly and meets its objectives.
The festival will mark the first time Naklua’s historic district is transformed into a retro-themed showcase, featuring an extensive collection of classic vehicles such as vintage Vespa scooters, Volkswagen Beetles, classic Mini Coopers, and American classic cars. The displays are designed to complement the charm and identity of Old Town Naklua.
A key highlight will be a special exhibition dedicated to His Majesty King Rama IX, featuring nine vintage Vespa scooters, including models once used by the late monarch, allowing visitors to reflect on his legacy and royal contributions.
In addition, local Naklua vendors will offer food and beverages throughout the event, supporting community participation and generating economic activity for residents in the area.
