PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) reports that a new moderate high-pressure system, or cold air mass, has moved into upper Laos and northeastern Thailand, bringing cooler temperatures and reinforcing cool to cold conditions across much of the country.

The northeastern region is expected to see temperatures drop by 1–2°C, with cool to cold weather prevailing. In other regions, including the East, where Pattaya is located, cool to occasionally cold mornings will continue, accompanied by morning mist and localized fog in some areas.

For Pattaya and the eastern seaboard, residents and visitors can expect slightly cooler temperatures in the early morning and late evening hours, with mist reducing visibility in some locations. The Meteorological Department has advised motorists to exercise caution when traveling through fog-prone areas and urged the public to take care of their health as weather conditions fluctuate.

In southern Thailand, rainfall remains limited as the northeast monsoon has weakened over the lower Gulf of Thailand and the lower South. Sea conditions in the lower Gulf are moderate, with waves of 1–2 meters, while the upper Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea see waves of around 1 meter.

Meanwhile, air quality remains a concern. Dust and haze accumulation across the North, Central Plains, Bangkok and surrounding areas, and parts of the East—including Pattaya—are reported at moderate to relatively high levels due to weak air circulation. Authorities advise sensitive groups to monitor air quality and limit prolonged outdoor activities where possible.

The Thai Meteorological Department continues to monitor conditions and will issue updates as the cold air mass expands further across the country.
