Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the Prince Mahidol Award Ceremony 2025 on behalf of His Majesty the King, honoring outstanding contributions to medicine and public health, with the event broadcast live nationwide and online.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The public is invited to watch the live broadcast of the Prince Mahidol Award Ceremony 2025.

​His Majesty the King has graciously granted permission for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to preside over the ceremony on His Majesty’s behalf. The Prince Mahidol Award honors individuals in the fields of medicine and public health whose work has made significant contributions to disease prevention and international health care.



Two recipients have been selected for the 2025 award.

In the Medicine category, Dr. Terry Dean King of the United States is recognized for developing a device to treat congenital heart defects in children, significantly reducing the need for major surgery.

In the Public Health category, Professor Dr. Walter C. Willett of the United States is honored for research on trans fats and nutrition, which has helped prevent chronic diseases at the population level.


The ceremony will be held on January 28, 2026, at 4:30 P.M. It will be broadcast live on Channel 9 MCOT HD, NBT, TNN, and online platforms at:
