The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris has extended the deadline for returning overseas voting and referendum ballots to February 2, 2026, after postal delays in France affected delivery to eligible Thai voters.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Embassy in Paris has extended the deadline for returning overseas voting and referendum ballots due to disruptions in the French postal system that delayed delivery to Thai voters in France.

The Embassy received complaints from eligible Thai voters who had not received their voting and referendum documents. After coordinating with La Poste, the French postal service, the Embassy learned that some mailings were delayed due to an error in a central data system. La Poste has since resolved the issue and expedited the mailings.

Given these circumstances and the importance of every overseas vote, the Embassy has extended the deadline for receiving completed ballots from January 30, 2026, to February 2, 2026. Voters are encouraged to complete and return their ballots as soon as they receive them. The Embassy has prepaid the return envelopes using the fastest available postal service (Enveloppe T Premium).

Thai nationals in Paris or nearby areas may also submit completed ballots in person at the Embassy, 8 rue de Greuze, 75016 Paris. Submissions are accepted outside office hours and on weekends.
