SARABURI, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the National Dairy Festival 2026, themed “The New ERA: Dairy Thailand From Crisis to Opportunity,” at the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO) in Muak Lek District, Saraburi Province.

Her Royal Highness attended the event in a private capacity and was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Amin Mayusoh, Permanent Secretary Winarot Sapsongsuk, DPO Director Watcharee Wannasri, senior officials from the Department of Livestock Development, and other relevant personnel.

Her Royal Highness toured the festival’s exhibition areas, with the key highlight being the 41st National Dairy Cattle Competition. Dairy farmers from across Thailand presented cattle that demonstrated breeding improvements and increased raw milk production, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance the genetic value and productivity of Thai dairy cattle. Winners received royal trophies graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives stated that the National Dairy Festival 2026 commemorates the benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the Father of Thai Dairy Farming, who introduced dairy farming as a profession in Thailand. The event also highlights scientific and technological advances in dairy farming and the dairy industry, and promotes milk consumption to support public health. Exhibitions showcase academic progress and technologies designed to reduce production costs and advance sustainable dairy farming.

The National Dairy Festival 2026 runs from January 23 to February 1, 2026. Visitors can experience the Thai–Danish dairy farm atmosphere, learn best practices in dairy farming, explore innovations to improve production efficiency, and attend exhibitions and academic seminars by public and private sector organizations dedicated to advancing Thailand’s dairy industry toward sustainable international standards.
