
BANGKOK, Thailand – Authorities have issued an updated situation report on the passenger train accident involving Train No. 21, which operates between Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal and Ubon Ratchathani in Sikhio district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The figures were confirmed as of 5:20 p.m. on January 14, 2026.
The incident affected 99 people. Officials reported 32 fatalities, seven critically injured patients, 19 people with moderate injuries, and 38 with minor injuries. Three individuals remain missing. All injured passengers have received medical treatment and appropriate care at local hospitals.
Authorities said identity verification procedures are underway for those who perished. Officials have expressed condolences to the families of the victims and support for those injured, while acknowledging the efforts of emergency responders and agencies involved. (NNT)
