PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya and surrounding areas are experiencing cooler morning temperatures and stronger winds as a new surge of cold air from China spreads across upper Thailand, according to the Thai Meteorological Department.

The eastern region, including Chonburi and Pattaya, has seen temperatures drop by around 1–2 degrees Celsius, with early-morning conditions noticeably cooler. Minimum temperatures are ranging between 17–23°C, while daytime highs remain warm at approximately 30–33°C. Northeasterly winds are strengthening, particularly along coastal areas.

Sea conditions in the Gulf of Thailand are also beginning to intensify. Waves near the Pattaya shoreline are around 1 meter high, increasing to 1–2 meters offshore. In areas affected by thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters. Authorities are urging boat operators, tour companies, and those engaged in marine activities to exercise caution and avoid sailing in stormy conditions.

The Meteorological Department has advised residents and visitors to take care of their health as the weather becomes cooler, drier, and windier. The dry conditions also raise the risk of fire, especially in densely populated and tourist-heavy areas.

Meanwhile, air quality in upper Thailand, including parts of the eastern region, remains a concern. Poor ventilation conditions are allowing dust and haze to accumulate at moderate to high levels. Sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, and people with respiratory conditions are advised to limit prolonged outdoor activities.

The cold air mass is expected to continue influencing Pattaya’s weather over the next one to two days before temperatures gradually rise again. Residents and tourists are encouraged to stay informed through official weather updates.
