BANGKOK, Thailand – Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised has visited the area around Wat Chaiwatthanaram in Ayutthaya to distribute informational materials on Thai Royal Costumes and the artistic contributions of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The outreach took place near the traditional costume rental shops, which are frequently used by tourists exploring the historic site.

The materials detail the proper tailoring and wearing of all eight official styles of Thai Royal Costumes and were given to residents, visitors, and business operators to encourage an accurate understanding of the attire’s cultural and royal origins.

According to the Ministry of Culture, the effort is expected to help expand the use of Thai Royal Costumes at major tourism destinations across the country, raising awareness while adding economic value to local businesses catering to cultural tourism.

Ayutthaya remains a key destination where cultural heritage and tourism intersect, making it well-suited for promoting traditional attire that supports both preservation and the visitor experience. (NNT)
