SONGKHLA, Thailand – The Ministry of Education has deployed vocational student volunteer teams to support post-flood recovery in Songkhla Province by establishing 50 Fix It Centers across affected communities. The initiative enables vocational students nationwide to assist in repairing flood-damaged vehicles and electrical appliances, helping reduce household expenses and restore essential equipment for daily use and livelihoods.

Minister of Education Narumon Pinyosinwat visited Hat Yai District to assess the readiness of several Fix It Centers. These centers offer repair services for electrical appliances, work tools, machinery, and motorcycles damaged by the recent flooding. The Ministry has confirmed its readiness to deploy additional personnel and equipment if necessary and will closely monitor operations to ensure that recovery efforts proceed efficiently and meet the needs of affected residents.

The vocational teams have advised the public not to plug in electrical appliances that were submerged in floodwater, as doing so could cause circuit damage and make repairs impossible. Residents are encouraged to bring their appliances to the Fix It Centers for inspection and servicing to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

In Songkhla Province, Fix It Centers have been established at 50 locations to support widespread recovery efforts. Vocational teachers and students are working together to provide repairs and maintenance services to the local community. The Minister has instructed all centers to accelerate operations while prioritizing safety, accessibility, and comprehensive assistance so that affected residents can resume their normal routines and livelihoods as quickly as possible.
