Thai King grants royal aid to southern flood victims and Hat Yai Hospital

The Thai King provides royal aid to families affected by southern floods and supports Hat Yai Hospital, as Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul oversees recovery efforts.

BANGKOK, Thailand – His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has graciously granted 20,000 baht in personal funds to the family of each person killed in the severe southern floods.

The announcement was made during the Economic Policy Committee meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who emphasized the urgent need for rapid economic recovery, particularly in the major economic hub of Songkhla and Hat Yai. Anutin noted the wide-ranging economic impact, citing the cancellation of the upcoming Sea Games events in Songkhla.



The Premier confirmed that civil authorities and the military, led by two deployed Deputy Prime Ministers, are focused on swift cleanup to help residents return home.

The King previously took all flood fatalities under Royal Patronage (Royal Funeral arrangements).

Additionally, His Majesty granted 100 million baht in personal funds to Hat Yai Hospital to replace damaged medical equipment and provided drones for search-and-rescue efforts. (TNA)
