Foreign travellers receive guidance from immigration officers as Thailand implements temporary overstay exemptions due to severe flooding in southern provinces.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Immigration and Traveller Support Measures Amid Southern Thailand Flooding

  • The Immigration Bureau has announced an overstay fine exemption for foreign nationals who are unable to depart due to flooding in eight southern provinces: Songkhla, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Trang, Satun, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
  • The exemption applies to travellers whose permitted stay expires between 20 November and 31 December 2025, and who are unable to leave the country due to impassable routes or transport disruptions.

  • This is a temporary exemption due to unavoidable travel conditions to support affected visitors who have no intention of overstaying.
  • Immigration officers at all international entry and exit points have been instructed to apply the exemption, while routine security procedures remain in place.
  • Provincial immigration offices affected by flooding are being restored to resume normal services as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and stay safe during your travels. (TAT)
