PHUKET, Thailand – Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthithaworn, also known as “Governor Sembe,” met with the Mayor of Sri Sunthon Subdistrict Municipality to urgently address traffic congestion around the Heroines’ Monument (Thao Thep Krasattri–Thao Sri Sunthon Monument)—a key traffic hotspot that continues to impact both residents and tourists due to high traffic volume.

The Governor emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among local authorities and relevant agencies to reorganize traffic flow, improve safety in high-risk areas, and enhance road management systems to ensure greater safety and efficiency, particularly during rush hours and the tourism season. He also stressed the need to listen to local community concerns as part of the solution.

Governor Nirat affirmed that Phuket is committed to advancing traffic management in a serious and systematic manner, guided by the principle of “straightforward action, 100% effort,” to ensure safe and convenient travel for the public and uphold the province’s image as a world-class tourism destination.
