BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul expressed frustration Wednesday over being criticized regardless of his actions, but reaffirmed that he is ready to dissolve parliament early if necessary.

Speaking at the “PRACHACHAT OUTLOOK THAILAND 2026: Adjust-Change-Move Forward” seminar at the Siam Kempinski Hotel, the PM highlighted the “Khon La Khrueng Plus (Half-Half)” scheme, noting that it builds on initiatives from former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. “If something is good and benefits the public, we should continue it,” he said.

Anutin emphasized that the current minority government will struggle regardless of parliamentary debate outcomes. “Next year, an election must happen. The government has a minority, so even the best debate will fail. I’ve set Jan. 31, 2026, for dissolution, but if waiting is impossible, I’m ready to dissolve on Dec. 12 when the House opens,” he said.

The PM added that political decisions should focus on delivering benefits to the people rather than trying to achieve “win-win” results in politics. “I want citizens to win at least 2–3 months, then Thailand wins. I’m happy with that,” he said, urging parties to choose policies that are actionable and practical.

Anutin also stressed the importance of continuity in governance. “What we’ve done lays the foundation for long-term growth. Regardless of party or political rhetoric, at their core, all politicians want the country to prosper,” he said.
